Founded in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, AR2 Equine combines deep veterinary insight, classical horsemanship, and therapeutic care. We prioritize long-term soundness, patient communication, and genuine partnership between horse and rider.

Ash Wallen

Ash Wallen grew up showing hunters and equitation in New York’s Hudson Valley, competing at premier venues such as HITS on the Hudson. Managing a 100-acre training, boarding, and lay-up facility in Goshen provided her with an exceptional foundation in comprehensive barn management and equine wellness. Since relocating to North Carolina, Ash has integrated Western disciplines with her classical background, focusing on colt starting, refining show partners, and guiding riders of all levels.

Clinical insight meets horsemanship

In addition to riding and training, Ash is a licensed veterinary nurse with specialized experience in orthopedics and soft tissue care. This clinical foundation gives AR2 Equine a unique advantage: we recognize early subtle indicators of discomfort, support targeted rehabilitation programs, and tailor every exercise to preserve long-term soundness rather than chase quick fixes.

Supporting the Success of Every Rider and Horse

As a certified therapeutic riding instructor who helped establish the Wounded Warrior division at Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, Ash has worked extensively with diverse riders and families. Today, we welcome first-time young riders, adult beginners, competitive athletes, and those seeking therapeutic horsemanship. Whatever your goals, we meet you where you are and build with care.
